Dental Assistant Appreciation Week

Dental Assistant Recognition Week (also known as DARW™) is held the first full week in March every year. Dental assistants are a key component of Bel Drive Dental year-round, but we dedicate this week to praise them for all their hard work!

What does a Dental Assistant’s typical day look like?

Dental assistants perform various tasks on a daily basis.

• Handle lab procedures such as cleaning dentures, taking impressions, x-rays

• Prepare instruments for upcoming procedures

• Assist the dentist with procedures by handing them needed instruments

• Update dental records and other administrative tasks

The exact duties of a dental assistant will vary depending on the job. Some may spend more time in the lab, while others perform administrative tasks.
